We are stepping into Rwanda in sync with the government, who has pledged to reduce extreme poverty to below 1% by 2024 and eliminate poverty in the country by 2030. Rwanda has detailed its plan to raise standards of living in its National Strategy for Sustainable Graduation, and we are confident that our proven poverty graduation model has the potential to transform the lives of hundreds of thousands of individuals and families in the country.
Our programs launched in the Rulindo District—the third poorest district in the country—in the towns of Goma and Sironji. Village Enterprise plans to expand into other districts in the years ahead as we continue to grow our impact in Rwanda.
