Director of Business Development
Penina has dedicated her professional life to championing economic inclusion and poverty reduction, particularly among rural women in Africa. Penina’s experience spans 12+ years, and in the process, she has carved out a niche that combines economic empowerment (livelihood) programming with resource mobilization, through lenses that bring in experience from different settings, academia, and practice. Currently, her role as Director of Business Development allows her to collaborate with teammates from various countries where Village Enterprises operates, as well as those in the United States, to ensure that business development, partnership management, and grant writing are well managed and a healthy portfolio is achieved.
Penina previously worked as Senior Specialist of Program Design and Grant Writing at BRAC International – Africa region, and, before that, as Head of Resource Mobilization at Forum for Africa Women Educationalists, FAWE Africa. She is a PhD Student at Leiden University in the Netherlands.
